The Big Scarf and The Big Wrap by Maia Discoe are just that; they are big. In every way. They use two strands of lace weight mohair yarn knit on large needles. It is a quick, fun, and addictive pattern. Five colors blend together to give an ombre effect.
The scarf uses 5 colors, one each of 25 gram skeins of mohair yarn (125 grams total). It measures 12 inches wide and 80 inches long. Perfect for wrapping up the stay snuggily warm.
The wrap is twice as wide. It also uses 5 colors, two each of 25 gram skeins of mohair yarn (250 grams total). It measures 24 inches wide and 80 inches long. Perfect for wrapping up the stay even more snuggily warm.
Any lace weight mohair or suri alpaca yarn with approximately 220 yards per 25 gram skein will work for the scarf. You'll need twice that amount for the wrap version.
We have created kits that have everything you need including the pattern. If you purchase a kit, there is no need to also purchase the pattern.
